How referrals work

Who can I refer?

You can refer any friends that are interested in delivering or driving with Uber by using your personal link.

Typically, your referrals can include:

Friends who are new to Uber
Friends who have earned with Uber in the past but haven’t taken trips recently

The conditions of the offer may differ and may typically depend on the city in which your friend is located. To get accurate details about who you can refer, please check the Refer Friends page in your Driver App.

For a successful referral, your friend will need to meet the necessary requirements to deliver or drive with Uber.

How do I refer my friends?

Here’s how you can share your referrals in the Driver app:

Select Refer friends from your app menu.
Tap Refer a friend.
Select how you want to share your referral link. You can invite friends directly from your contacts, or share your link through other channels. Remember, the Driver app creates a unique link for each referral. Share a new link for each friend you invite.

How do I track the status of my referrals?

If you’ve shared your referral link with friends, you can track the status of your referrals to see who has signed up and completed the number of trips required for you to receive your referral reward.

Here’s how you can check the status of your referrals in the Driver app:

Select Refer friends from your Driver App menu
Tap the View status button at the top of the page

We’ll notify you via email or through an in-app message within 48 hours of your friend registering or accepting the referral if they’re already earning with us. You’ll also be notified when your friend fulfills the necessary trips for you to receive the referral reward.

Your referral rewards will be included in your weekly payment statements. You can find them under the “Miscellaneous” or “Other Payment” sections, typically within 1-2 weeks of qualification.
