What is Uber Money?

Uber Money is a stored-value balance that gives you more ways to pay and more control. You can purchase Uber Money in the app and use it to pay for your trips.

Uber Money is available in select countries. To determine whether Uber Money is available in your country, please make sure to switch on your location service.

Navigate to your mobile settings where you can activate the service.

Activate Location Services on iOS

1. Select “Settings” then “Privacy
2. Select “Location Services” then “Uber”
3. Choose “Always”

On Android follow these steps:

1. Select “Settings,” then “Apps
2. Select “Uber” then “Permissions”
3. Toggle “Location” to on

To purchase Uber Money:

1. Press the Menu icon at the top left of the application screen.
2. Select ‘Wallet’, then ‘Add funds’.
3. Select an amount.
4. Press on ‘Payment method’ to select a different payment source or add a new one.
5. Press on ‘Purchase’.

To use Uber Money to pay for your trips, you’ll need to choose Uber Money as your payment method after entering your destination.

You’ll be prompted to add an additional payment method or add more funds to your Uber Money Account before you order or request a ride if your Uber Money balance is less than the cost of your trip or order. This means that you will not be able to combine your remaining Uber Money balance with another payment method on your account. If the cost of your order or trip is more than your Uber Money balance, please top up your Uber Money balance or use another payment method to pay for your order or trip. An authorization hold may be made on that payment method.
