Uber ratings system explained

  • Ratings are anonymous to promote honesty
  • Neither riders nor drivers see specific ratings tied to a particular trip
  • Individual trip ratings cannot be shared or altered due to privacy concerns

Driver’s overall rating:

  • Your overall rating is an average of the ratings riders have given after their trips with you
  • A single trip rating has little effect on your overall average

Rider feedback: * Riders must specify a reason for rating a trip under 5 stars * Ratings may be excluded from your average if the reason is beyond your control

Exclusions from your rating:

Ratings from riders who often rate trips low are not counted in your average. Ratings may not count when issues arise from: * GPS routing * Traffic conditions * App performance issues * Walking distance to the pickup location * Price increases from high demand (surge pricing) * UberPool matches or co-rider problems
