Finding items in store

Quick tips:

  • Check item categories to match with the aisle names.
  • Start with fresh produce, follow with dairy, meat, or fish, and leave frozen items last.
  • Outer edges of the store usually have pre-packaged or processed foods, middle aisles often contain snacks like chips and cookies.
  • Get to know your local store’s layout for faster shopping.
  • If you can’t find something, don’t hesitate to ask store staff for help.

Adding items to a shopping list

  • Only add items with customer consent.
  • Use the app to add or adjust item quantities when replacing unavailable items.
  • Be aware that if the price exceeds the estimate, your Plus Card could be declined.

Understanding weight-based pricing

  • Customers know the price is an estimate based on weight.
  • They’ll be charged for the actual weight you purchase, shown on the receipt.

Selecting the correct item

  • Mark items as Found or Unavailable in the app.
  • Always read item descriptions and check names, quantities, weight or size, and brand.
  • Use barcode scanning when available to ensure accuracy.
  • Be mindful of expiration dates

Shopping for fresh produce

  • Inspect fruits and vegetables for any damage.
  • Test root vegetables for firmness, avoiding those with cracks or soft spots.
  • Citrus should be firm but not hard.
  • When in doubt, consult the store’s staff.

Bagging and packaging items

  • Organize items by category in bags.
  • Place fragile products on top to avoid damage.
  • Keep cold items together to maintain appropriate temperatures.
  • Avoid placing the store receipt inside the bag and refrain from handing it to the customer.
