Helping Riders who are deaf
Use visual communication when assisting a rider who is deaf or hard of hearing.
1. Get the rider's attention by positioning yourself in front of them or waving your hand.
2. Establish a form of nonverbal communication, like gesturing or writing notes or texts.
3. Avoid ignoring the person by talking only to their interpreter.
