Annual Cap and Carryover

  • You can accrue and use up to 40 hours of PSL per calendar year.
  • You can carry over up to 40 hours of unused PSL to the following calendar year.
  • If you do not record any active time for 365 consecutive days, your PSL balance will expire.

Payment Rate

When you use your PSL, it is paid at a rate of $21.22 per hour. This rate will be adjusted annually on January 15th.

How to Use PSL

You can use your accrued PSL for your own care or to care for a child, spouse, parent, or parent-in-law for reasons including:

  • Mental or physical illness, injury, or health condition.
  • Medical diagnosis, care, or treatment.
  • Absence from work due to being a victim of domestic violence.

You will not be required to provide a doctor’s note or other documentation to use your sick time.
