Types of airport dispatches

What is Rematch?

Rematch allows drivers who’ve just dropped off at the airport to pick up passengers without heading to the staging lot.

Unfortunately, rematches aren’t guaranteed for every airport drop-off as its availability varies depending on demand.

Please head back to the designated waiting area after dropping off at the airport.

It is against most airports rules and regulations to wait or attempt a pick up in an unauthorized waiting area.

What is ExpressMatch?

To lower driver and rider wait time, at select airports, we launched a dispatch technology called ExpressMatch.

The process for picking up riders at the airport will begin as usual when you join the queue in the waiting lot at the airport.

Once you reach the top of the queue in the waiting lot, rather than being matched with a specific rider, you may receive an alert that says Head to the UberX Pickup Zone to join the queue at the pickup zone if there’s space.

If you receive and accept this message, you can begin to make your way to the pickup zone. When you arrive at the UberX pickup zone, you can wait to receive a rider request. Wait times may vary.

Please only wait in the designated UberX pickup zone if you have received and accepted the alert.

If you don’t accept the Head to the UberX Pickup Zone alert before navigating to the pickup zone, you won’t receive a ride request while waiting at the pickup zone.

What is PreMatch?

Uber launched the PreMatch feature to reduce rider and driver wait times at the airport. With this feature, drivers will receive an opportunity to head to the airport pickup zone in anticipation of upcoming demand.

The process for picking up riders at the airport will begin as usual when you join the queue in the waiting lot at the airport.

Once you reach the top of the queue in the waiting lot, rather than being matched with a specific rider, you may receive an alert that says Begin driving to the UberX Pickup Area.

Once you accept this opportunity, begin navigation to the pickup zone and look for a rider request on your way.

If you don’t receive a request on your way to the pickup zone, you may return to the waiting lot and resume your position at the top of the queue.
