SAFETY ON UBER INTERCITY TRIPS
Before you start accepting Intercity trips, it’s important that you consider the following safety tips:
Stay fit and alert
Properly consider your energy levels and the time you’ll need to complete a trip, including the return journey. Taking a 15-minute break to stretch your legs every two hours should help ensure everyone’s safety. Be sure to plan your breaks with the rider.
Maintain sufficient fuel levels
Check your fuel and charge before the trip. Let your rider know if you need to refuel during the trip.
Emergency situations
Make sure you know what to do in case your vehicle breaks down:
- Turn on your hazard lights.
- Pull over safely away from traffic. Drive on a slower speed road if possible.
- Stay inside the vehicle with your seatbelt on and call for help. In case staying inside the vehicle is not an option, stay far from the road, preferably behind a barrier if one is available.
- Don’t change tires yourself unless it’s safe to do so.
