To drive with Uber, your vehicle must meet these minimum requirements:
- Must have 4 doors and seat at least 4 riders
- Vehicle must meet our vehicle age requirements for your city, which can be found here (make sure the page is showing information for your city by checking your location in the lower right corner of the screen)
- Title must not be salvaged, reconstructed, or rebuilt
- Rental vehicles are only allowed if sourced from an authorized Uber rental partner
- No cosmetic damage, missing pieces, or commercial branding
- Heating and air conditioning must be in good working order
If you’re driving a vehicle you don’t own
You can drive a vehicle you do not personally own, but you must follow these steps:
- Have permission from the owner
- Be listed as an insured driver on the vehicle’s insurance policy
Uber cannot allow a vehicle onto the platform if your name is not on the insurance document.
Temperature control guidelines
- Heating and air conditioning must function properly in all vehicles
- The driver may adjust the temperature as needed for comfort
If your vehicle does not meet these requirements:
- You may still qualify to use your vehicle for delivery trips
