Paying with Venmo

Riders and customers with Venmo installed on their device can now use Venmo to pay for their Uber rides and Uber Eats orders. If you don’t already have Venmo, sign up.

How to add Venmo as a payment method in the Uber app:

  1. Select “Wallet” in the menu in your Uber app.
  2. Tap “Add Payment Method”.
  3. Tap “Venmo”.
  4. Log in to your Venmo account and tap “Authorize”.

How to add Venmo as a payment method in the Uber Eats app:

  1. Tap the profile icon in the bottom right corner and select “Wallet”.
  2. Tap “Add Payment Method”.
  3. Tap “Venmo”.
  4. Log in to your Venmo account and tap “Authorize”.

Note: To remove Venmo, follow the instructions above, then tap “Delete.”

Venmo is only available on Uber and Uber Eats in the US. If you’re in the US and don’t see the option to add Venmo as a payment method, make sure you’re using the latest version of the Uber app.

How to split the cost of a ride or meal in the Venmo app:

  1. Use Venmo as your Uber payment method to pay for your ride or meal.
  2. In the payment feed of the Venmo app, select the option to split the cost with friends and family.
  3. Use the compose screen to note what the payment is for with text or emojis.

How to use Uber and Uber Eats custom emojis in the Venmo app:

To use Uber emojis when splitting the cost of a ride or meal, tap on the emoji button in the compose screen or type “Uber” or “Uber Eats” in your payment note. If you don’t see the Uber emojis, make sure you’re using the latest version of the Venmo app.
