Car Delivery is an option that lets renters request car rentals directly through the Uber app, with the vehicle delivered to their location in select markets. For drivers, this offers the opportunity to earn by transporting rental vehicles to the users.
As a driver, you’ll see available Car Delivery requests in the Work Hub and you’ll be able to view the details of each trip, including pickup and dropoff locations and the fare before you decide to accept or decline.
Car Delivery not only connects drivers with opportunities to move vehicles between rental locations and renters, but also between business locations, often for third parties like car rental companies, within specific markets.
If you are at least 21 years old and are located in a market where Uber Car Delivery is available, you can sign up to participate through the Delivery section of the Work Hub.
To sign up, you must also: * Agree to the Terms and Conditions * Have an active Uber courier profile * Have a clear profile photo * Have a valid driver’s license * Pass a background check, which includes a criminal background screening and an MVR (motor vehicle report).
If your driver’s license isn’t already uploaded, you’ll be prompted to upload it during the sign-up process. Even if you’ve already uploaded your driver’s license to the National ID document section, you must upload it specifically in the Driver’s License section.
Once submitted, the document will appear as Pending until reviewed. It’ll then show as Approved or Rejected based on the review.
Uber doesn’t provide transportation to or from rental locations. You’ll need to plan your own travel to and from the pickup and dropoff locations.
To ensure that you’re matched with a trip, you should log in and be available at least 60 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
Renters rely on a reliable Car Delivery experience. If you need to cancel your Car Delivery trip, be sure to do so at least 90 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. This gives the renter enough time to be reassigned to another driver. Regularly cancelling or failing to show up for Car Delivery trips you’ve accepted could result in these opportunities no longer being available to you.
If the renter cancels the trip less than 60 minutes before the pickup time, you’re eligible to receive the full fare. Please reach out to Uber Support for help, if you were on track to arrive on time for the reservation (e.g. you were online, progressing to the pickup location, etc.).
The trip may still be reassigned to another driver if you’re not online 60 minutes before pickup, regardless of your actual arrival time. Logging in on time ensures the platform knows you’re available.
