This mostly happens when your request is declined due to outages or some requirements that your device ‌must meet before moving forward. Before trying troubleshooting steps on it, carry out the following check:

Outages: Take some time and try to request again minutes later. As with any online service, temporary instabilities might happen and our team is constantly working to keep the platform live 24/7, so you can go anywhere, anytime.

Troubleshooting: Complete the checklist below to make sure you are fully ready to log in.

  • Try updating your application to the latest Uber app version;
  • Access our page on the web or on another device and try to request again there;
  • Restart your phone to resolve any possible device, system, or connection issues;
  • Check if your internet is working as expected (stable WiFi or good mobile signal);
  • Verify if the Uber app permissions are allowed in your system configurations;
  • Check if there are any pending updates on the operational system (iOS or Android).

I cannot request a trip because my account is not ready

This usually happens when your request is declined from being sent to our closest partners due to some requirements that your payment method, account, or ID verification should meet before moving forward.

Most of the time, an error message is displayed stating why the request was refused. By following the instructions, you may be able to attempt again. If it persists, carry out the following check:

Payment: Go to ACCOUNT > WALLET, and confirm that the registered payment methods are still active or have an adequate balance. If you need to update them, just select the one you need or add a new payment method.

Account: With payment methods verified, go to ACCOUNT and click on your photo or symbol next to your name. Under UBER ACCOUNT and ACCOUNT INFORMATION, confirm if there is any recommended action for your profile.
