A guide to picking and packing items at the store

Viewing order details

Upon arriving at the store, select Start Packing. This will take you to the item list grouped by category and the item details (item name, quantity, price, weight, etc)’

If you’re working on a multi-order, each item will be clearly labeled. You can filter the shopping list by customer to make shopping and checkout easier.

Checking packing status?

Items will be grouped based on your packing status:

  • Found: Item was found.
  • Pending: You sent a photo/message to the customer for review on the replacement. The item hasn’t been picked or replacement hasn’t been confirmed.
  • Replaced/Substitutions: Customer confirmed this replacement and you successfully replaced the unavailable item with substitution.
  • Refund: Please remove the item from the basket and do’nt scan this item at check-out. The item was removed from the order and the customer won’t be charged for it.

Shopping for the same items from at different store

Pack & Deliver requests must be completed at the store shown in the Driver app. This will ensure that the items and delivery times shown to the customer are accurate.

Customer requested more order items

You can’t add additional items to an order that is already in progress. However, customers may add items or edit their carts up until you’ve finished shopping

Picking the correct item

As you pick an item in the store, mark it as ‘Found’ or ‘Unavailable’ so you can move to the next item in your packing list. Here are some tips:

  • Tap the item to read the description
  • Check the item name, quantity, weight or size, and brand.
  • Check the expiration date of items and take special care when handling frozen items to maintain their temperature

Shopping for fresh produce

Here are some tips when shopping for fresh produce:

  • Check the surface of fruits and vegetables for any bumps, bruises, or scratches.
  • Check for firmness when picking root vegetables such as garlic, onions, or potatoes. If there are cracks, or if the vegetable is too soft, pick a different one. For citrus fruits, you don’t want it to be too firm as it could be dry inside.
  • Ask the store’s staff if you have questions about the product.

Bagging and packing items

Customers appreciate when their items are packed carefully and are delivered in good condition. Here are some tips:

  • Pack the products by categories such as groceries, cleaning supplies, and delicate products
  • Pack fragile products on top so they don’t get crushed or break
  • Keep frozen items and perishables such as dairy products together so the temperature is maintained
  • If you’re working on a multi-order, pay attention to customer labels to avoid confusion while shopping and paying for the items

I can’t checkout

Before checking out, make sure all products are marked as:

  • Found
  • Refunded
  • Substitution approved (replaced)

There shouldn’t be items left as To-do or Pending.
