I keep getting pushed offline

Samsung devices have battery optimization features designed to help extend battery life. These features limit activity on unused or background apps, which can accidentally push you offline if you're not actively in the Driver app.

To avoid getting pushed offline, follow the steps below for your specific phone model to:
- Update your phone's battery optimization settings
- Disable settings for unused or sleeping apps (apps selected to not run in the background)

ANDROID 11 ON SAMSUNG DEVICES
To update battery optimization settings:
1. Go to Settings on your device.
2. Go to Apps > Uber Driver > Battery > Optimize battery usage >
3. Switch the settings to All.
4. Disable the Uber Driver toggle.

ANDROID 10 ON GALAXY S10
To disable settings for unused or sleeping apps:
1. Go to Settings on your device.
2. Go to Device care > Battery >
3. Tap the 3-dot menu and select Settings.
4. Disable "Put unused apps to sleep" and "Auto-disable unused apps" by toggling them off.
5. Select "Sleeping apps" and tap the trash can in the upper right.

GALAXY S9
Battery optimizations settings are on by default. After an operating system update or a restart, these settings may return to the default. To update battery optimization settings:
1. Open Settings on your device.
2. Go to Device care > Battery > App power management.
3. Disable "Put unused apps to Sleep" by toggling it off.
4. Open the following settings and remove Uber Driver:
- Sleeping apps
- Deep sleeping apps
5. Open Apps that won't be put to sleep and add Uber Driver.
6. Go to Device care, tap the 3-dot menu, and select Advanced.
7. Disable Auto-optimization.

GALAXY S8
To update battery optimization settings:
1. Go to Settings on your device.
2. Select "Device maintenance" and then Battery.
- At the bottom of the screen, you'll see a list of your most frequently used apps.
- If you have trouble locating the Driver app, scroll to "Sleeping apps" and tap to expand that list.
3. Scroll to the "Unmonitored apps" menu.
4. Turn off the "App power monitor" setting.

To disable settings for unused or sleeping apps:
1. Go to Settings on your device.
2. Select "Device care" and then Battery.
3. Tap the 3 dots in the upper right and then Settings.
4. Disable the following toggles:
- Adaptive battery
- Put unused apps to sleep
- Auto disable unused apps

OTHER SAMSUNG DEVICES
Follow these general guidelines to disable battery optimization settings on other Samsung devices:
1. Go to Phone settings.
2. Go to Applications and select the three-dot menu in the top right corner.
3. Go to Special Access > Optimize Battery usage
4. Find Uber Driver on the list and verify that it is not selected.

REMOVE UBER DRIVER FROM EDGE LIGHTING
If you have enabled Edge Lighting (feature that makes the edge of the phone glow instead of showing notifications), remove Uber Driver from the Edge Lighting applications list, or you may not get notifications.
