The City of Seattle has established separate minimum pay standards for rideshare drivers and delivery couriers.
Rideshare Drivers
For any trip that begins in the City of Seattle, you are entitled to the greater of the per-trip minimum or the combined per-minute and per-mile rates.
- Per-Mile Rate: $1.63
- Per-Minute Rate: $0.70
- Per-Trip Minimum: $6.12
These rates apply during passenger time, which is the period when a rider is in your vehicle.
Delivery Couriers (“PayUp” Ordinance)
As of 2025, couriers completing deliveries in Seattle are guaranteed a minimum payment per offer.
- Minimum Pay Calculation: Your earnings for each offer will be the greater of:
- $5.34
- ($0.80 x Engaged Miles) + ($0.47 x Engaged Time)
- Engaged Time/Miles: This includes the time and distance from when you accept a delivery offer until you complete it.
- Top-Up Payments: If your daily earnings do not meet the required minimum, you will automatically receive the difference in a top-up payment, paid out every other Tuesday.
- Offer Cards: You will see the Guaranteed Minimum Payment for each offer before you accept. Tipping now occurs after delivery, so tips are not included in the upfront offer.
