Received extra money

Uber enables users to pay for their trips in cash. Sometimes they may not have the exact amount in cash for the trip and may need some exchange.

If the User gives you in cash an amount higher than the final fare of the trip or doesn’t have the exact amount, you can offer the exchange in one of the following two ways:

AS CREDITS (THROUGH THE AUTOMATIC EXCHANGE TOOL)

If the User agrees to have their change reflected as credits in the app (so they can use them in the next trip or in Uber Eats orders):

  1. Before completing the trip, tap “Other Amount” in the “How much cash did you receive?” section.
  2. Enter the total amount you received in cash.
  3. The system will automatically return the difference as credits in the User’s app and adjust it without affecting your earnings.

IN CASH

It’s recommended you try to carry cash with you while you’re driving with the app to make sure you have enough change.

If you had a problem giving change and you have already closed your trip, please send us the information requested below and we will assist you with your request.

If you have already reported the situation through the app before you finalized the trip, please verify the fare adjustment directly on the trip receipt. This will not affect your earnings.

You don’t need to contact us again for the same problem, we know how important it is to receive a solution, and if it is necessary we will contact you as soon as possible.
