Signing up to deliver on Uber Eats with a car

To begin delivering with a car, you’ll need to enter your name, Social Security number, driver’s license information, and birth date, as well as your vehicle information.

Then, every earner on our platform needs to complete a background check. This can take several days, but it is an essential step in maintaining the safety of the platform. Once that’s done, you can start accepting deliveries and earning on the Uber platform.

The last required documents, a valid driver’s license or photo ID, a profile photo, and vehicle insurance documents, need to be uploaded in the Driver app within 14 days of your first delivery. If they’re not added to your account by then, you’ll be unable to go online.

Eligibility requirements (may vary by city)

• At least 19 years old
• Have a 2-door or 4-door car
• Have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance

Document requirements

To confirm your eligibility, you will be asked to upload the following documents before completing your sign up. When uploading images of the required documents listed below, please make sure:

• The document image is clear and all text is legible
• All 4 corners of the document are visible
• The document is not expired or expiring soon

Driver’s license

• Commercial driver’s licenses are accepted
• DL photo should be clearly visible
• Name must match name on your Driver profile
• Must be a photo of the document, scanned documents are not accepted

Vehicle insurance

• The name listed on the insurance document must match the name on the profile
• Commercial insurance is accepted

Background checks

• Uber obtains background checks from a third-party provider, Checkr, for all US drivers and delivery people.
• Most background checks are completed within 3-5 business days.
• Uber then receives your completed report from Checkr and reviews the results to determine your eligibility on the Uber platform.
