This page is for people using a car to deliver with Uber Eats who want to switch to Rides while continuing to earn with Uber Eats during the switch process.
Previously, delivery people were required to be offline while completing the requirements for rideshare with Uber during the switch process.
Now, eligible delivery people can opt-in to continue delivering up until their account gets approved for rides.
Who is eligible to keep delivering during the switch to rides?
Uber Eats delivery people must meet the following requirements in order to switch:
How long does it take to switch?
The time taken to switch depends on how long it takes for you to complete the rides activation steps. You can continue delivering with Uber Eats during this process.
A 24-hour service hold will be automatically initiated after the last requirement to switch to Uber Rides is completed. During this hold, you will not be able to earn with Uber Eats or the Uber app.
Once this hold period is complete, your account will be automatically activated for Uber and you will no longer be able to deliver with Uber Eats.
What happens to the Uber Pro points/tier?
When you enter into a new rideshare contract, your current Uber Eats Pro points/tier will be removed and will not be carried over.
How do I upload my documents for rides?
You check your progress by going to Account > Work Hub in the Driver app and choosing “Switch to driving with the Uber app”.
Note that documents are usually processed within 2 hours, but may take up to 24 hours in some cases.
