Tracking acceptance and cancellation rates

Acceptance rate:

Your acceptance rate reflects the number of trip requests you’ve accepted out of the last 100 exclusive requests sent directly to you (Trip Radar requests excluded).

  • If you’ve received fewer than 100 exclusive requests since December 2021, your acceptance rate is calculated based on the total number of exclusive requests you’ve received in that time.
  • If you’ve received fewer than 10 exclusive requests since December 2021, your acceptance rate won’t be calculated until you’ve received at least 10 exclusive requests.
  • Expired or timed out trip requests count as rejections.

Cancellation rate:

Your cancellation rate is the number of trips you’ve canceled out of your last 100 accepted trips (including matched Trip Radar requests).

  • If you’ve had fewer than 100 accepted requests since December 2021, your cancellation rate will be calculated based on the total number of requests you’ve accepted in that time.
  • If you’ve had fewer than 10 accepted requests since December 2021, your cancellation rate won’t be calculated until you’ve accepted at least 10 requests.

We understand that circumstances can prevent you from completing every trip, and that’s perfectly fine. However, maintaining a low cancellation rate is important to ensure reliability, positive rider experiences, and a positive impact on other drivers.

When a rider cancels a trip, it does not affect your acceptance or cancellation rates.

Note that acceptance rates and cancellation rates are not considered for promotional purposes in California.

Is my last 100 “trips” based on all requests offered to me on the Uber app?

Yes, the app considers activity from all of your trips (including both rides and deliveries) when it calculates your cancellation rate. The app considers all exclusive requests offered directly to you (both rides and deliveries) when it calculates your acceptance rate; it does not include trip radar in acceptance rate calculations.

Where can I see my acceptance rate and cancellation rate?

You can view your acceptance rate and cancellation rate in the app by following the steps below:

  1. Tap your Profile Photo in the upper right hand corner of the Driver App
  2. Next, locate your Profile Photo near the top of the app and tap it again
  3. You’ll now see your Driver Rating, Acceptance rate, and Cancellation rate, in that order
  4. Tap the number in the middle to view a detailed breakdown of your Acceptance Rate
  5. Alternatively, you can tap the number on the far right to view a detailed breakdown of your cancellation rate

How can I improve my acceptance rate and cancellation rate?

To improve your rates, you need to replace older trips that negatively affect your ratings with new trips that positively affect your ratings.

Acceptance and cancellation rates are calculated based on your last 100 applicable trip requests. This means that each new request accepted or declined “pushes out” the oldest one from that calculation. This rolling calculation can sometimes cause confusion. Here’s what to keep in mind:

Why your rate might not change immediately

It’s possible to accept many new trip requests, or avoid cancellations, but not see your rate change immediately. This is because the impact of each new trip depends on what it’s replacing in your history:

  • Improving Your Cancellation Rate: If you complete a trip and it replaces an older completed trip in your last 100, your cancellation rate won’t change. Only when you replace an old canceled trip with a completed one will your cancellation rate improve.
  • Improving Your Acceptance Rate: Similarly, if you accept a trip and it replaces an older accepted trip, your acceptance rate won’t change. Your rate will improve when you replace an old declined trip with an accepted one.

Tips for improvement

  • Acceptance Rate: The key to improving your acceptance rate is to consistently accept exclusive trip requests. As older rejections fall outside of your last 100 requests—and as long as you avoid new rejections—your rate will increase.
  • Cancellation Rate: To improve your cancellation rate, avoid canceling accepted trips. As older cancellations fall out of your last 100 accepted trips—and as long as you don’t add new cancellations—your rate will improve.
