What is Login with Selfie?
Login with Selfie confirms your identity during sign-in by using a quick photo. This adds extra security to your account, and it can also help you log back in if you’ve lost access to your phone or email.
Here’s how it works:
- Confirms your identity by matching your selfie to your Uber profile photo.
- Protects your account from unauthorized access or fraud.
- Helps you log back into your account when other login options don’t work.
How to log in with a selfie
When the app needs to confirm your identity, it’ll ask you to take a selfie.
- Open the app and tap Log in.
- If you see a Take a selfie prompt, Select it and follow the steps on the screen.
- Make sure that you’re in good light, center your face in the frame, and hold your phone steady.
- The system checks the photo and logs you in once it confirms the match.
That’s it! No passwords, codes, or complex recovery steps needed.
Troubleshooting
If your selfie isn’t recognized:
- Try again in better lighting.
- Remove anything covering your face.
- Check that the app has camera permission in your phone’s settings.
- If it still doesn’t work, you can select More Options and choose an alternate way to verify, or you can reach out to Support.
About your privacy
The selfie is only used to confirm that you’re the real account owner. It’s securely processed and encrypted; no one on the support team can see it. You can read more about how Uber handles this in our Privacy Notice.
