What is Occupational Accident insurance?

Extended insurance benefits:

• California: Drivers and delivery people are covered for their rides and delivery activity in the state, including time online, waiting for a request, en-route, and completing a trip or delivery.
• Massachusetts: Drivers are covered for their rides activity in the state, including time online, waiting for a trip request, en-route to pick up passengers, and while on trips starting in Massachusetts.

The policy is fully paid for by Uber, and includes coverage for medical expenses, disability payments, and death benefits.

These benefits are offered in addition to the 3rd party liability insurance policy offered across the US. The occupational accident insurance covers injuries to the drivers and delivery people, while the 3rd party liability insurance covers injuries to the passenger or other affected parties.
