What is Uber Premier Reserve?

Uber Premier Reserve is a new feature that allows you to book a premium or premium minivan ride within designated area.

Which areas are covered by Uber Premium?

  • Tokyo 23 wards → Narita / Haneda Airport
  • Tokyo 23 wards <> Other than airports
  • Osaka
  • Kyoto

How much is the fare?

Please refer below for the basic fare breakdown for Uber Premier Reserve.

  • Minimum fare:

Tokyo:

  • Flat-Rate Airport Fare

    • Minimum Fare: ¥7,200 (including tax)

  • Upfront Price (Minato Ward, Chuo Ward, Meguro Ward, Koto Ward → Haneda Airport)

    • Estimated Minimum Fare: ¥7,200 (including tax)

  • Upfront Price (excluding airports)

    • Minimum Fare: ¥5,000 (including tax)

※ This applies only to airport flat fares or Upfront price (Uber Premium, Premium Van– limited areas). For details on fares, please refer to the official fare information.

※ For airport flat fares, even if the fee is below ¥7,200, the minimum fare of ¥7,200 (including tax) will be charged.

※ For Upfront Price (excluding airports), even if the ride fare is below ¥5,000, the minimum fare of ¥5,000 (including tax) will be charged.

Osaka & Kyoto:

  • Minimum Fare: ¥5,000 (including tax)

※ Even if the fee is below the minimum fare for each area, the minimum fare of ¥5,000 (including tax) will be charged.

  • Reservation fee: minimum 1,500 JPY (including taxes)

※Reservation fee fluctuates.

※The amount of the reservation fee will not change after the reservation is confirmed.

  • Additional fee might be applied ( Surge, toll fee, Premier Van booking fee)

You can see the estimated fare when you request the trip. Please note that the estimated fare shown on the app might vary from the actual fare.

How to reserve the trip?

Please follow the direction below to reserve the trip.

  1. Tap “Now” right next to “Where to?”
  2. Select the date and the time you would like to reserve
  3. Add pickup and dropoff location
  4. Tap “Premier” or “Premier Van” (for limited areas) at “Choose a ride” screen
  5. Tap “Reserve Premier”
  6. Confirm the pickup location by adjusting the pickup spot.
  7. Tap “CONFIRM” and complete the reservation process if you agree with the notes regarding Premier Reserve

After completing the process, the app will attempt to send the requests to the driver 7 days in advance. The matching process continues until 45 min (15 min for Airport flat fare) before the trip starts.

If a driver has not matched even after 45 min (15 min for Airport flat fare) to your reservation, regular Uber Premier and cancellation policy will be applied automatically.

Will the toll fee be charged separately?

Yes, same as regular Premier, toll fee will be charged to the customer separately.

What is the cancellation policy for this feature?

The following cancellation fee might be charged in according to Uber Premier Reservation Service Terms and Conditions.

  • Cancellation less than 6 hours before the scheduled departure time : 3,480 JPY

※For Upfront price trips (except airports) : 2,600 JPY

  • Cancellation after the scheduled departure time (after boarding) : The usage fee in full (Reservation Fee + Airport Flat fare or Upfront price)
  • If the rider does not board the car 15 minutes after the scheduled departure time and the vehicle-dispatch request is canceled : 3,480 JPY

※For Upfront price trips (except airports) : 2,600 JPY

No Cancellation fee will be charged in the following cases.

  • Cancellation less than 6 hours before the scheduled departure time, but not matched with a driver.
  • If a driver arrives 10 minutes or more after the scheduled departure time
  • Cancellation more than 6 hours before the scheduled departure time

Only Airport Flat fare or Upfront price appears on the app when I set Tokyo 23 wards and Haneda / Narita Airport as the destination. Is it a bug?

No. Only Airport Flat fare or Upfront price will be displayed when you set the pickup and drop off location between Tokyo 23 ward to Narita Airport or Tokyo 23 wards (partial area) to Haneda airport.

The fare was charged before the ride starts.

If you set a credit card or PayPay as your payment method and you already match with your driver 24 hours prior to the reservation time, the temporary charge will be made.

If you have not matched with a driver 24 hours prior to the reservation time, the temporary charge will be made once the trip is matched with a driver.
