In order to provide users with an even more attractive subscription (flat rate) service, Uber Eats will implement a full renewal of the Eats Pass service, which will become Uber One from November 15, 2022 onward.
【You can enjoy $0 Delivery fee with the same Monthly Price】
The monthly rate will remain 498 yen per month even after the transition to Uber One. Further, there will be no change to the privilege that entitles a user to use the service free of delivery fee any number of times when the user places an order in excess of 1,200 yen (inclusive of taxes and excluding any fees) at a restaurant which displays a golden-color Uber One icon (instead of green-color ticket-shaped Uber Eats icon). However, the user is required to place an order in excess of 1,400 yen (inclusive of taxes and excluding any fees) to enjoy the free delivery with respect to a non-restaurant. There will be no change to the cancellation terms either.
【New benefits added】
In addition to the above, the following benefits will be newly added for Uber One:
If an Uber Eats order arrives later than the “latest expected time of delivery” indicated in the Uber Eats App, an Uber Credit equivalent to 500 yen will be granted(this shall not apply to delivery services provided by merchants);
Uber (Taxi/Premium) rides will be 5% off (up to 5000 JPY) (however, when paying in cash, an Uber Credit equivalent to 5% will be granted at a later date instead of 5% off being applied at the time of the ride); and
You will be matched with a driver who is highly reputed at Uber(Taxi/Premium).
【Service transition timeline】
Eats Pass will automatically switch to Uber One on the next renewal date (meaning the next scheduled payment date; hereinafter referred to as the “Next Renewal Date”) that will come on or after November 15, 2022.
【Service transition procedures】
If you agree to the service transition to Uber One, you are not required to do anything.
Should you not agree to the service transition to Uber One and would like to stop using the subscription service, please select the option to terminate your Eats Pass membership in the “Eats Pass” section of the “Account” screen within the Uber Eats App by the Next Renewal Date. In this case, we will stop providing the subscription service (Eats Pass) with effect from the Next Renewal Date. If you opt to end your Eats Pass membership within 48 hours before the next scheduled payment date, please contact our support desk to notify us that you wish to cancel your membership.
If you do not opt to end your Eats Pass membership by the Next Renewal Date, you will be deemed to have agreed to the service transition to Uber One.
For a user who, as of the service transition commencement date stated above, is on the free-of-charge trial period for Eats Pass, the service transition to Uber One will take place on the Next Renewal Date only if the user opts to renew the agreement for Uber One by the expiration date of the free-of-charge trial period.
【Updates to the Terms of Use】
In relation to the service transition to Uber One, we will update the “Terms and Conditions for Renewable Passes” (the “Terms of Use”). The new Terms of Use are posted in the “Terms and Conditions for Renewable Memberships (Uber One)” section of this website, and they will apply as from the time of service transition to Uber One on the Next Renewal Date.
