Users in Latin America, South Korea, and India can’t create new Family Profiles, but can manage existing family members, payment preferences, and email receipts under Family Settings.
Set up a Family Profile
- Select the profile icon in the top corner of your app
- Scroll down to Settings
- In the Family section, select Set up your family
Only one Family Profile can be created at a time.
Family members can’t be restricted to certain vehicle types or spending limits.*
Invite members to your Family Profile
- Select the profile icon in the top corner of the app
- Scroll down to Settings
- Choose your Family Profile
- Go to Family Members and select Add Family Member
- You can resend invitations through this section
- Search for your family member by name or phone number
- Select the empty circle next to their name and select Add
Uber Family follows Uber’s Terms and Conditions so users still need to be 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in their location) to sign up and ride with Uber.
Remove a member from the Family Profile
- Select the profile icon in the top corner of the app
- Scroll down to Settings
- Choose your Family Profile
- Go to Family Members and select the name of the family member.
- Choose Remove Family Member
Change profile payment method
- Select your profile icon in the top corner of the app
- Scroll down to Settings
- Choose your Family Profile
- Under Preferences, select Default Payment
Only credit or debit cards can be used as a payment preference for your Family Profile.
Change email for trip receipts
To change the email address where receipts are sent for your Family Profile:
- Select the profile icon in the top corner of the app
- Scroll down to Settings
- Choose your Family Profile
- Under Preferences, select Email Receipts
Delete Family Profile
The Family Profile owner can delete the profile by following these steps:
- Select your profile icon in the top corner of the app
- Scroll down to Settings
- Choose your Family Profile
- At the bottom of the screen, select Delete Profile
