When a rider cancels after you’ve accepted their trip, you may be paid either the standard cancellation fee or for the actual time and distance you spent driving towards the pickup, whichever amount is more.
You may receive a cancellation fee when: * Your rider cancels after you’ve accepted their trip * Your rider doesn’t arrive at the pickup location after your arrival

Uber reserves the right to withhold, deduct, or reduce the amount of any cancellation fee payments that we determine or believe were in error, fraudulent, or in violation of Driver terms.
We periodically experiment with changes to the cancellation policy. As a result, cancellation fees may be waived for a small subset of randomly selected cancellations.
