In-app tipping is available on all trips/orders in cities that have the tipping functionality. Both riders and Uber Eats users have up to 40 days to add a tip to a trip or order.

Facts about tips from Uber Eats customers

  • Customers add a tip when they place their order.
  • Tips are included in the amount you see on the delivery request.

Below are rare situations in which tips are not processed:

  • Suspicious activity detected: If our systems identify suspicious behavior on an Uber Eats order, the associated tip may be automatically rejected.
  • Customer did not receive the order: When a customer reports that they did not receive their order, Uber reimburses them. As a result, no tip is collected.
  • Payment failure: In rare cases where a customer’s payment method fails, Uber does not receive the tip amount.

In all of the scenarios above, you will still receive the base fare for completing the delivery.
