How to sign up?

Signing up to drive (P2P or Taxi in selected cities) with Uber is easy.

1. Download the app or sign up to drive at uber.com/drive.
2. Upload the document requirements (see link below).
3. Get authorised to provide ridesharing service (see link below).
4. Complete a vehicle inspection at one of our accredited vehicle inspectors.
5. Take the Driver Safety Education test at z.uber.com/anzsafetyedu.

Once you’ve completed all the steps, your account will undergo a final review for account activation that can take up to 24 hours. This review is to ensure that your account is set up correctly and complies with local regulations.

Do I need to own a car?

In Australia, Uber driver-partners do not need to own a car. You can borrow one, or, in most cities, you can also hire one through the Uber Marketplace. In all cases, you must be listed as an insured driver on the vehicle’s insurance policy.
