Disputing Sustainable packaging metrics

The sustainable packaging metric is one of the areas that may impact your Uber Eats success score, if applicable in your market. It measures how much of your store’s packaging meets local sustainability criteria as determined by local, third party experts.

Uber develops a localized Green Packaging framework for each market, guided by:

  • Local regulations and recycling infrastructure
  • Expert review of which materials are considered more sustainable in that region

To verify packaging, Uber partners with independent local companies who may conduct periodic order sampling and other data verification methods.

Each packaging item is assessed as “more sustainable” or “not sustainable”, based on local standards. If 90% or more of your packaging items meet the criteria, your store is considered a Sustainable merchant.

How to Review, Add or Update Your Packaging Information

If you’d like to add your packaging information or if you believe the stored information is inaccurate or outdated, you can request updates in Uber Eats Manager by following these steps:

  1. Log in to Uber Eats Manager with your username and password.
  2. Navigate to the Stores tab.
  3. Click on Store Info.
  4. Scroll down to the Packaging section.
  5. In the Packaging declaration area, click the Request Update button

Following the instructions in the form to Add, Edit or Delete packaging items. You will need to submit photos of your packaging, which Uber will review and use to identify materials used.

You can request additions, modifications or deletions of any packaging item as needed.

Once submitted, your updated packaging data will be assessed against Uber’s Green Packaging framework. If you meet the threshold ( 90% sustainable items), this will be reflected in your next Success Score update.

Note: Sustainable packaging metrics are updated monthly, and your new score will reflect performance over the previous 28 days.
