What are promo codes, and how do they work?

When using a promo code, please keep the following in mind:

• Promos must be applied before requesting a trip. They can’t be applied after placing an order.
• Promotions will automatically be applied first. We select the promotion that has the higher maximum discount and automatically apply it to your next ride.
• If your promo was a percentage off, this means we compared the maximum discount listed in the terms and conditions to determine the best savings for your ride.

How do I add a promo code to my account?

1. Tap the profile icon at the bottom of the main screen
2. Select Wallet
3. Select Add Promo Code
4. Enter the code and select Add

How do I view active promotions?

1. Tap the profile icon at the bottom of the main screen
2. Select Wallet
3. Select Promotions

Active promotions appear at the top of the page and display the expiration date and country within which they can be used.

How do I add multiple promotions on a trip?

You can add as many promo codes to your account as you’d like, but only one will apply per trip taken. The code with the highest discount will be applied, so if you’re holding on to a particular code for a specific trip you should enter it right before you take that trip. Any difference between the promo and fare amount will be charged to your payment method selected, and any value that isn’t used will not roll over.

Many promo codes are also reserved for new users only, so you can apply a maximum of one new user code to your account before your first trip.

Applying promotions across currencies

Promotions can only be redeemed in the currency in which they were initially issued. Any credits/Uber Cash for other currencies/areas will remain on your account and automatically apply to your next eligible ride.

How do I get promotions?

Most of the promotional offers you receive are unique to your profile, which means that you may receive a promotion other users in your area may not have access to while they receive other promotional offers.

The best way to keep up with our promotions is to watch your email for a message from us.

How do I invite friends using my promo code?

To invite a friend to use Uber and receive a discount on their first ride:

1. Tap the menu icon in the top left corner of your Uber app
2. Select Free Rides
3. Select the send icon to text or email your invite code to a friend or post it to social media, or tap Send Invites

Your invitees will receive a discount on their first ride when they use your invite code. Invite codes are valid only for new users. If you are unable to view these options under the Account tab of your app, it is possible that access to this promotion isn’t available to you at this time.
