What is Uber Taxi?

Uber Taxi is a new option in the app that allows you to travel when you need, at any time and anywhere in the city. In some cities, taxi-type vehicles can take you to your destination faster because they travel in the bus lane.

This time, a driver will ride in a licensed taxi vehicle to take you to your destination.

What payment methods are available for Uber Taxi?

Accepted payment methods for Uber Taxi trips are credit card, debit card, cash and Uber Cash.

Before confirming your travel request, select the payment method you prefer, as the driver-partner will not be able to change it during the trip.

How can I request an Uber Taxi ride?

To request an Uber Taxi ride in the app, follow these steps:

• Open your Uber app.
• Enter the starting point and destination location for your trip.
• Choose the “Uber Taxi” option if it is available in your location.
• Confirm the starting point and destination.
• A partner driver will accept your request and meet you to take you to your destination.
• At the end of the trip, evaluate the driver partner.

What happens if I leave an object behind?

If you forget an item in the vehicle, we ask that you contact the driver-partner to coordinate delivery. You can contact the driver-partner through the app by following these steps:

• Open the app and tap the 3 lines in the top left corner of the screen.
• Tap the “Your Trips” option.
• Choose the trip on which you lost your item. In the “Help section”, select the “Lost Objects” option.
• Click “Contact driver-partner for a lost item.”

You will need to establish the details for returning the item directly with the driver-partner. In some cases, a return fee may apply to recover the lost item.

Why did I receive a taxi for my trip if I chose the UberX option?

In some cities, taxi drivers can accept ridesharing trips (UberX, Comfort or Black), depending on the category of their vehicles. Thus, if a user requests a ridesharing trip, a taxi driver can accept that trip. This will help the user to have their request answered more quickly.

If I request a ride on UberX and receive a taxi, what fare should I pay? Do I need to pay the amount shown on the meter?

If you received a taxi vehicle after requesting a ride on UberX, your final fare will be the fixed price shown in the Uber app. This will be an all-purpose ridesharing trip, including price.

In which cities is Uber Taxi available?

It is currently available in some cities in Brazil, such as São Paulo, Salvador and Belo Horizonte. Check the updated availability in your city when requesting a ride through the app.
