WHAT IS PREMIUM RESERVE?

Premium Reserve is a new Scheduled Rides option that you will have the option to receive trips if you are eligible for premium products like UberBlack and Lux trips. This will give you the opportunity to accept trips scheduled up to seven days in advance, so you can better plan your trips.

HOW DO I ENABLE IT?

To start to receive these requests, you will need to accept the reservation policy by tapping on “Reservations” from the menu in the driver app. Once you accept, you will be able to view reservation requests and upcoming trips under the “Reservations” option.

HOW CAN I PREPARE?

These scheduled rides will require high reliability from you. Here are some ways you can prepare:

Go online at least one hour ahead of the scheduled pick-up time or your trip will be reassigned.

During this hour, we will try to offer you ride requests that are heading in the direction of your reserved ride. Please note that the volume of trip requests received can be affected by a few reasons, such as trip request demand in their area or driver preferences.

Arrive at the pick-up location 15 minutes in advance of the scheduled pick-up time. You will be paid for your time, which will include the time you are waiting, and you will still get paid if a rider does not show up.

Only accept Reserve trips that you know you can complete.

HOW WILL CANCELLATIONS WORK?

If you don’t check in (by going online) or cancel less than an hour before pick-up, your trip will be reassigned, and it will be considered a driver cancellation.

If the rider cancels less than an hour prior to the scheduled pick-up time, you will receive the full upfront driver fare as a cancellation payment. If you wait 15 minutes past the pick-up time for a trip and your rider has not arrived, you have the option to cancel and earn the lower of the rider’s fare or a standard cancellation fee (service fee not included).

If you decide not to accept a trip request, there will be no penalty to your overall acceptance rate. The cancellation policy will always be shown on your offer card.

The fee will be waived for a small subset of cancellations if you exceed the initial ETA by 5 minutes, if you haven’t made any progress towards pickup location or if you are driving further away from the pickup location. In those instances, your rider will be waived for the cancellation fee and you won’t be eligible for the cancellation fee.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER FEATURES INCLUDED?

There will be a section, which includes two tabs under the “Reservations” option in your app, Requests and Accepted. Both tabs will be organized by date and time, and will include these details:

  • Date

  • Pick-up/ Drop-off locations

  • Estimated duration of the trip

  • Upfront Price

You will also be able to view if the Rider added you as a favorite driver. After Reserve trips, riders can add their driver as a favorite driver, which allows them to be matched with the driver(s) again when requesting future Reserve rides.

  • Please note the Favourite Driver feature is available in certain markets only.

You will receive a push notification on your device 1 hour and 15 minutes before your pick-up time with a reminder of when you should be online. If a trip was scheduled at least 24 hours in advance, you will receive a notification for a reservation reminder 12 hours before the pick-up time. If you are offline on the app, you will only receive push notifications during the hours of 6am-10pm.

HOW DO I OPT OUT?

You can choose to opt-out of reservations trips by declining the reservation policy in the driver app, this won’t affect your acceptance rate.
