Compte désactivé

We understand that having your account deactivated is frustrating.

If you’re not sure why your account was deactivated, check out our webpage Understanding why drivers and delivery people can lose access to their accounts, which includes information on our review process and what you can do.

Some commons reasons for deactivation include:

  • Background check failures
  • Expired documents
  • Safety issues
  • Fraudulent activities
  • Discrimination or refusing service
  • Ratings

The appeal process

Before you begin the appeal process, you should gather evidence that backs up your claim. The Uber team allows the following types of evidence:

  • Police reports
  • Dashcam footage (video/audio recordings)
  • Screenshots or communication logs
  • Third-party documentation (e.g., mechanic receipts for vehicle issues)

Once you’ve got your evidence ready, follow these instructions to file your appeal:

  1. Go to your deactivation notice in the app
  2. Tap Appeal
  3. Submit your evidence
  4. Wait for our final decision

This process is the only way you can appeal the deactivation and get updates on your appeal.

Once you’ve submitted your appeal, it will be reviewed by our team of specialized agents. You should expect a decision in 7 business days.

Please Note: If you have an existing appeal, our support team will not be able to provide any updates or the final decision via this channel. For all updates (including final outcome) regarding your appeal, please refer to the review center section in your app/on the Partner portal. Updates will be provided there once the review has been completed.

The Uber deactivation process

At Uber, we use data and technology to enhance the safety and security of our platform. However, manual reviews are also crucial to ensure that drivers and delivery people are treated fairly and that their accounts are not affected by fraudulent reports.

In some cases, you might not lose access to your entire Uber account, but only to certain types of earning opportunities. For example, you may still be able to give rides or do deliveries, but not both.

We will try to notify you if you are at risk of losing access to your account or specific earning opportunities. Notifications are sent to give you a chance to address any issues before they lead to your account being deactivated.

In some cases, we may need to remove access to your account without advance notice. This is typically done for legal or safety reasons to protect the Uber community.

We have processes in place to identify riders and customers who abuse our ratings or customer support systems. Allegations from these users are not considered when making account decisions. This helps ensure that your account is evaluated fairly and based on accurate information.

What to do

If you’re unable to go online, the best place to get more information is the home screen of your Driver app. If you see a blocker at the bottom of your screen, you should be able to tap for more information on why your account is blocked and any actions you can take to unblock it.
