Tips for taking clear photos
- Make sure your identity document isn’t expired
- Use the original document, not a copy
- Capture all 4 corners of the document
- Make sure all text is clear and readable
- Avoid using your flash to prevent glare
- Try rotating your phone horizontally to fit everything in the frame
Additional forms of identification
Please provide any of the following:
- Social Security Card
- US Passport or Passport Card
- Permanent Resident Card
- Employment Authorization Document or Card
- Original or certified US birth certificate (issued by a state, county, municipal authority, bearing an official seal
- Foreign passport with Form I-94 or Form I-94A with Arrival-Departure Record, and containing an endorsement to work
- Certification of report of birth issued by the Department of State (Forms DS-1350, FS-545, FS-240)
- Native American tribal document
- Passport from the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) or the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) with Form I-94 or Form I-94A indicating nonimmigrant admission under the Compact of Free Association between the United States and the FSM or RMI
- U.S. Citizen ID Card (Form I-197)
- Identification Card for Use of Resident Citizen in the United States (Form I-179)
