I did not receive the correct amount of cash

Uber allows users to pay in cash for their rides. When you receive travel requests that will actually be paid, the app will show you. It is convenient that you have enough staff to exchange money for a user who pays with high value tickets.

If at the end of the trip the user pays less than the total amount, you can request an adjustment directly through the app when the trip ends, so they will receive the correct amount immediately. Follow these instructions:

At the bottom of the screen, you will have two options to confirm the amount you received in cash:

  • The trip’s correct amount.
  • Other amount.

If you did not receive the full amount, choose the second option and enter the amount of cash you received.

If the user really pays you a higher amount for the total amount of the trip, you can give the change in two different ways:

1. As credits in the automatic change tool

For cases in which the exact change is not available and if the user accepts this option, before completing the trip, select “Other” in “How much money did I receive?” and enter the amount that the user tells you. The system will automatically return the difference as credits in the user application and adjust your earnings.

2. Cash

It is recommended that you always carry cash while you are connected to the app, in order to give change to users when necessary.

If you have had trouble receiving the correct amount of cash for a trip and have not informed you once the trip is complete, please complete the fields at the end of this article. In return, if you have reported this problem through the application, check the receipt for the trip in question, the adjustment will be made automatically.
