If you’re in a situation that you believe is an emergency:

  • Call 911 as soon as you can do so safely. Be ready to provide names, descriptions, and locations to the dispatcher.
  • Use the Safety Toolkit to call 911 directly from the Uber app. Tap the shield icon while online to access this feature. It shows your location on a map and the address, which you can tell the dispatcher.

In certain pilot cities, Uber has partnered with RapidSOS to add an emergency button to the app. When the button is used, key information such as the vehicle’s location, license plate, and make/model is sent directly to the dispatcher.
