Creating an Uber Driver account

To drive with Uber, provide these documents:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Current vehicle registration
  • Proof of insurance

To upload documents to your account, sign in to drivers.uber.com to visit your dashboard OR follow these steps in the Driver app:

  1. Open the Uber Driver app.
  2. Tap the menu (three lines) on the top left.
  3. Select Account.
  4. Tap Documents.
  5. Choose the document you need to upload or select Take photo.

If your document doesn’t get approved, it might be because of the following:

  • You didn’t meet the eligibility requirements.
  • Your vehicle didn’t meet Uber’s requirements.
  • There were issues with your uploaded document.

Below are some common document issues:

  • Ensure the photo is clear and well-lit.
  • Upload photos of the original document.
  • Show all four corners of the document in the photo.
  • Provide the specific document requested.
  • Check that documents are current and won’t expire soon.
  • Make sure all text is legible.
  • Complete all required fields.

Allow 1-5 days for Uber to review your documents. Make sure everything is correct before submitting to prevent delays.
