We know that sometimes things happen on a trip that you can’t control, and that can affect how riders rate you. Keep in mind:
- One ride won’t make or break your rating: Your overall rating is an average of the last 500 trips you’ve completed, so a single rating won’t have a significant impact
- Certain issues are excluded: If a rider’s negative rating is due to issues like “too many pickups,” fare price, or technical problems with the app, it won’t count against your overall rating
Tips for a 5-star experience
To consistently earn great ratings, top drivers recommend:
- Maintain a clean, odor-free, and well-kept vehicle
- Be friendly and greet riders with a smile
- Check with riders about their preferred route
- Use GPS when the rider doesn’t have a preferred route
- Engage in polite, professional, and respectful conversation
- Dress in a professional manner
- Offer to open vehicle doors for riders
- Consider providing extras like bottled water, snacks, gum, mints, or cell phone chargers
- Assist with luggage and bags when it’s safe.
