Arranging Uber Health and Central rides

For help with arranging an Uber Health or Uber Central ride, follow the instructions below.

To request or schedule a ride:

  1. Sign in to central.uber.com or health.uber.com.
  2. Select New ride in the upper left and then Single ride. You can also batch upload rides.
  3. Fill out the rider information. To add a second rider to the trip (only available on Central), click “Add rider.” Riders will receive a text message or automated call (if selected) with trip details if you enter their number. If automated calling is selected, that will apply to all riders.
    • If there are multiple stops, riders will receive details of the first pickup location only.
  4. To change the language of texts or calls riders receive, select a language from the dropdown next to Rider language preferences. The chosen language will apply to all riders.
  5. To share an immediate (on-demand) ride with a rider’s trusted contact, select the Share trip status toggle. This contact will receive a text message with a link to track the entire trip in real time. You can share the trip with up to 3 trusted contacts, but can’t share trips on batch ride uploads. Please note that for trips with multiple riders (only available on Uber Central), designated trusted contacts can track the entire trip.
  6. Enter the pickup and dropoff locations.
    • Click “Add stop” to add a second dropoff location (only on Central). You can set a total of 4 stops/dropoff locations per trip.
    • Only one stop/dropoff can be set for round trips.
    • All riders should be picked up at the same location.
  7. Choose whether you want to arrange a scheduled or flexible ride.
  8. Select when you want to book the ride.
    • To request a ride immediately (make sure the rider is ready), leave Today and Now beneath Choose when they’ll ride
    • To schedule a ride for a different day and time, select Today to change the date of the ride and Now to change the time. You can book rides 30 minutes to 30 days in advance. For flexible rides, you’ll only select a day (not a time), since riders will request the trip via text message.
  9. Scroll down to select a vehicle type and add a note to the driver or internal memo (optional).
  10. Select Request now (for scheduled rides) or Set up ride (for flexible rides). You can also save the ride as a draft.

Once a trip is in progress, you can track the driver’s location on the ride card under Today’s activity.

To help keep everyone safe, a maximum of 4 riders can join a ride using Central. Please make sure no additional riders are listed and all riders are picked up at the same location.

To re-book a trip or book a return trip:

  1. Sign in to central.uber.com or health.uber.com.
  2. Go to Completed or Past activity on the left.
  3. Select the ride you want to re-book or book a return trip for.
  4. Select Re-book trip or Book return trip.

To edit a flexible ride:

  1. To change the date, location or vehicle type of a future flexible ride:
  2. Sign in to central.uber.com or health.uber.com.
  3. Select Future rides and then the ride that needs to be updated.
  4. Click Edit ride and update the pickup or dropoff address or date of the ride.
  5. Click Update ride.

To change the rider’s name or phone number or edit a flexible ride scheduled for today, cancel the trip and create a new one.

Once an immediate ride is requested, you’re unable to edit the trip information in the dashboard.

To cancel a ride:

  1. Sign in to central.uber.com or health.uber.com.
  2. From Today’s activity or Future rides (depending on when the ride is scheduled), find the ride you want to cancel.
  3. Click Cancel on the ride card.

Cancelling a trip when the driver is already on the way may incur a cancellation fee on your account.
