This page is for Uber rides driver-partners who want to enter into a new contract to begin receiving Uber Eats delivery requests.
If you are still completing your sign-up and would like to switch to deliver with Uber Eats, use the drop-down option at the top of your driver app and follow the prompts to update your preference to delivery. If this option isn’t available to you, please contact support and request a change.
*As of February 2026 in New Zealand, Uber ridesharing driver-partners require a P-Endorsement ($223 for 1 year or $262 for 5 years), while Uber Eats delivery people must complete a National Crime Check ($34). On average, sign-up takes 24 days for Uber ridesharing and 13 days for Uber Eats. Please note that costs (all in NZD) and durations can vary based on individual circumstances, such as the need for additional documents.
If you deactivate your existing rideshare contract and enter a new delivery contract, the change will take effect 24 hours after your initial request.
During this process, you will lose access to the app while we review your documents (this may take 2-24 hours). If you’re unable to provide all the required documents, you will be restricted from going online until all documents are provided and then reviewed by our team.
You will not be able to enter a new contract to begin accepting another type of request for 12 days, such as returning to receiving trip requests or vice versa.
Also, when you enter into a new delivery contract, your current Uber Pro points/tier will be removed and will not be carried over.
Reactivation usually takes 24 hours after document approval. You will not be able to accept trip or delivery requests while the switch takes place.
You can get help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the app. To get help, tap your profile picture in your Driver app then select Help.
