SNAP benefits can now be used on Uber Eats for certain participating grocery stores. SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) provides nutrition benefits to families across the United States. EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) cards work similarly to debit cards, but the funds are issued by the government to be used on eligible items.
Go to Account > Wallet > + Add payment method and add your EBT card as a payment option. Note that you have the option of specifying the dollar amount you want to use with your EBT card at checkout.
To shop from participating stores, use the SNAP filter on the home screen of your Uber Eats app. Click here to see the list of participating stores.
Grocery items tagged as “SNAP” in the app, such as staple food items and non-alcoholic beverages, are eligible for payment with SNAP benefits through Uber Eats.
SNAP benefits can’t be used on Uber Eats for restaurant orders, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, gift cards, lottery, mature products, and any other ineligible products. Fees, tips, and any other ineligible charges cannot be paid with EBT. A secondary form of payment is required for non-SNAP-eligible items and charges.
While SNAP benefits can’t be used to pay for Uber One membership fees, members still receive Uber One benefits when paying with EBT cards.
New members may also be eligible for a free, 3-month Uber One trial. To be eligible, you must:
You can opt in to the Uber One membership when adding your EBT card. Note that you may experience a slight delay receiving the offer, but you can go to Account > Add membership after adding your EBT card to redeem your free, 3-month Uber One trial.
At the end of the promotional period, your secondary form of payment will be charged the regular monthly fee for the Uber One membership. You can cancel your membership at any time. To receive the Uber One free trial, you must accept the offer and terms of the offer.
To utilize EBT for SNAP-eligible Items, you must connect your valid EBT card to your Account. You can upload only one EBT card per Account. At this time, we do not accept EBT cash.
