What happens when an order comes in?

When a new order comes in, your Uber Eats Orders screen will flash green and a sound will play. To make sure that you hear new orders coming in, we recommend that you do the following:

  • Keep your Uber Eats Orders device at a high volume so that you can hear any new order notifications.
  • Check the circled number on the flashing green screen to confirm the number of new orders you’re receiving.

You can follow these steps to fulfill new orders:

1. Tap the flashing green screen to view new order information.

2. Hand off the order to the kitchen. * You can enter the new order information in your POS or relay the order verbally to kitchen staff. * If you have printing enabled, you can select “Print” to print the order.

3. Tap “Confirm” once the kitchen has begun preparing the new order. This will notify the customer that their order is being prepared.

4. Pay attention to the “Expected Pickup Time” and “Time Given” for the order.

  • Expected Pickup Time = when the Delivery Partner is scheduled to arrive at your store and pick up the order
  • Time Given = the total time needed to prepare the order for Delivery Partner pickup. This number is based off your store’s average preparation time for the item(s) ordered.

NOTE: You can adjust your default prep time in Uber Eats Manager. Once you sign in to Uber Eats Manager, navigate to the prep time section (labeled with a time clock). Depending on the time of day, order volume, and size of the order, Uber Eats dynamically adjusts your prep time to improve accuracy.

5. Once completed, package the order and have it ready for when Delivery Partner arrives. Be sure to confirm the name and order ID is correct before handing off the order to the Delivery Partner.
