The WAV option allows you to request a ride in a vehicle equipped with a side entry ramp and driven by a driver certified in WAV best practices and vehicle securement through a third party, such as the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA), Transit & Paratransit Company (TAPTCO), or the Open Doors Organization.

To request a wheelchair accessible vehicle in Chicago, please use the following steps :

1. Enter your pickup and destination locations
2. Slide up through the vehicle options until you reach “More” section
3. Select “WAV”
4. Tap on “CONFIRM WAV” to complete the request

Please note that WAV will cost the same as an UberX trip.
