Uber for Business vouchers let organizations sponsor rides or meals for their customers or guests. By creating a voucher program, you can provide ride and meal vouchers for specific events or campaigns, or create vouchers for individuals who need a ride to or from your company.
Admins can access voucher programs from the Uber for Business dashboard. Coordinators can create and manage vouchers through vouchers.uber.com once they’ve been given access.
You can create multiple types of vouchers on vouchers.uber.com:
Any of these voucher types can also be created using the locked templates for vouchers process, which helps you maintain control over certain voucher fields like value, time, and location.
You can choose between 2 types of voucher links:
When selecting a voucher link, consider how you plan to distribute the voucher links and how many people will receive them.
When creating a voucher program, the Cost estimator feature can help you determine how much your voucher program will cost.
Once you enter the number of vouchers and amount per voucher, a maximum potential budget will appear in the Cost estimator box. You’ll only pay for the rides taken and meals ordered, so the amount you spend may actually be less.
If applicable, you’ll also see a voucher creation fee at checkout, which is a non-refundable, flat fee per voucher charged to organizations creating a voucher program. The non-refundable fee is charged for the creation of each voucher, regardless of whether the voucher is ultimately used by the recipient.
If you want Uber to send the voucher directly to recipients, you’ll need to add their name and phone number or email (preferably the one associated with their Uber account) when creating the voucher program.
If you plan to distribute the vouchers yourself by sending recipients a unique or general link, no contact information is needed to create the voucher program.
Whether your company or Uber distributes the voucher, recipients need to claim the voucher to associate it with their Uber account.
You can set limitations on the locations where ride vouchers can be used. To do this, set a pickup and dropoff location when creating the voucher.
There’s no limit to the number of locations you can add per program.
You can adjust the radius (up to 5 miles) around the locations you choose to provide flexibility for riders.
Location controls aren’t currently available for Uber Eats vouchers or vouchers for all Uber products.
You need an Uber for Business account to create ride vouchers. If your organization doesn’t have an Uber for Business account, create one here.
Your account also needs to be enrolled in daily billing or monthly billing. If your organization is on pay-per-trip payment method, you’ll see a prompt to switch your account to daily billing when enabling vouchers. If you’re seeing an error when enabling vouchers, contact business-support@uber.com
You can create voucher programs up to 12 months in advance. When setting the time frame, add a start and end date.
