Vehicle Maintenance Records Collection

Why do I need a service logbook or maintenance invoice?

Consistent with your duties under state regulatory requirements as a driver-partner, you need to ensure your vehicle is regularly maintained according to your vehicle manufacturer’s specifications. Uber is required to complete routine audits of a selection of vehicles each year to help ensure that driver-partners’ vehicles are being maintained to a standard that is safe and reliable. In this instance, your vehicle has been selected for auditing.

What type of documents do I need?

The two documents that you will need to provide are:

1. Service Logbook:

  • Maintenance date must within the last 12 months
  • The logbook should specify the relevant service intervals to which the maintenance relates. For example:
    • 12 months / 10,000 km
    • 24 months / 20,000 km
    • 36 months / 30,000 km
  • At least one of the vehicle details should be available:
    • Registration number
    • Vehicle Make/Model
  • Registered mechanic details or Mechanic ID must be present in the form of a stamp

In addition to the above-required information, the Service logbook must also contain one of the following: * An itemised list of completed maintenance work * Statement confirming the maintenance work was completed in line with manufacturer’s recommendations * Evidence of multiple maintenance (i.e. multiple logbook entries)

2. Maintenance Invoices: * Maintenance date must be within the last 12 months * Vehicle details that have a vehicle registration number present * Registered mechanic details or the Mechanic ID must be present * Itemised list maintenance work completed per service interval (single part repairs are not valid) * Odometer reading or mileage reading

In addition to the above-required information, you may also wish to provide previous maintenance invoices to show that your vehicle has been maintained on an ongoing basis.

What would happen if I don’t submit records by the date that Uber has requested me to do so?

If you’re unable to produce valid documentation in time, your vehicle will be blocked from taking trips until valid documentation is provided.
