Understanding program restrictions

Restrictions help Admin control how programs are used. They help admins manage company budgets, compliance, and policies. Restrictions are set at the program level and automatically apply to employees assigned to each program.

Types of Restrictions

• Spending Limits: Set a budget for each program. This can be a limit per trip, per day, or per month. If a user’s trip or order exceeds this limit, the remaining amount will be charged to their personal payment method.
• Location Restrictions: Specify allowed or blocked pickup and dropoff locations, or set a radius around an address.
• Time Restrictions: Limit usage to certain days or hours, such as business hours or late-night rides home.
• Vehicle Restrictions: Restrict which vehicle types employees can request (like UberX or Uber Comfort Electric).
• Meal Restrictions: Limit what types of items can be ordered, such as no alcohol purchases.
• Trip Allowance: Set a limit on the number of trips an employee can take per day or month.

How Restrictions Work

When an employee requests a ride or meal, we automatically check the request against your program rules.

• If the request is in policy: The employee can continue as normal, and the company’s account is charged.
• If the request is out of policy: the employee receives an in-app message and is prompted to use a personal payment method.

Can I edit a program’s restrictions after it has been created?

You can edit an existing program to update its details or restrictions.

What happens if the user is added to multiple programs with different rules?

When a user is part of multiple programs with different rules, they’ll see a list of eligible programs when requesting a trip. They’ll need to select your preferred program before confirming the trip. The restrictions of the chosen program will automatically apply to their trip.

Can I apply multiple rules for the same program?

You can add multiple rules/restrictions when creating or editing a program. These include things like spending limits, time restrictions, and allowed locations.
