Understanding the Dine Out Cash Program

Dine Out Cashback is a rewarding way to earn Uber Cash by reserving a table and dining in person at participating Merchants.

How the Dine Out Cashback program works

1. Reserve a table at an eligible Merchant through Dine Out.
2. Dine at the Merchant, pay your bill, and scan your itemized receipt using the Uber Eats app before you leave the Merchant.
3. You will receive Uber Cash in your Wallet within 7 days.
4. Only the person who made the reservation can scan the receipt.
5. The receipt can only be validated once.

Steps to redeem Cashback

1. After paying your bill, scan your itemized receipt through the Uber Eats app at the Merchant.
2. To scan your receipt, search for the “Scan” option in the Merchant or use the “Your Plans” section in the Dine Out area of the app.

Do I need to show my app to the waiter for the Cashback?

No, you do not need to show your app or interact with the Merchant staff about your cashback. Simply upload a photo of your itemized receipt through the Uber Eats app after paying your bill.

I didn’t get the full Cashback on my bill

Uber Cash based on a percentage of your bill is capped at a maximum amount per transaction. You can see the terms and conditions of each offer for details.

I missed the time window to upload my receipt

To qualify for cashback, you must upload your receipt via the app in the Merchant within the active time window, from 30 minutes before your reservation time until 4 hours after your reservation time.

I’m unable to upload my receipt in the app

Please check the following:

• Make sure you are in proximity to the Merchant (within 100 meters or 300 feet) and that your location services are turned on.
• Check if you are within the eligible upload window (30 minutes before to 4 hours after the reservation).
• Ensure you are using the latest version of the Uber Eats app.

I lost my receipt, can I still get cashback?

Unfortunately, it’s not possible, since a clear photo of the original, itemized Merchant receipt is required to validate your visit and issue the cashback. Please ask the Merchant if they can reprint the receipt for you.

Note that payment slips without itemized food details are not accepted.

Does the cashback Uber Cash expire?

Yes, once credited to your Uber Wallet, you have 30 days to use it before it expires.

Is there a limit to how many times I can earn Dine Out cashback?

You are limited to earning cashback once per calendar day, 3 times per calendar week and up to 5 times per calendar month. Additionally, please have in mind that you can only earn cashback from the same restaurant 3 times per calendar month.

What happens if I cancel my reservation but still eat at the Merchant as a walk-in?

To be eligible for cashback, you must have an active, honored reservation booked through Dine Out.

If you cancel your reservation, you will not be eligible for Uber Cash, even if you still eat at the Merchant.

What exactly needs to be visible in the photo of my receipt?

• The Merchant’s name and address.
• The date and time of your meal (must match your reservation day).
• An itemized list of the food and drinks ordered.
• The final total amount paid (excluding taxes).
• Standard payment slips that only show the total amount without food items will not be accepted.
• Avoid including your personal or sensitive information in the photo.

Troubleshooting Cashback Issues

Cashback is generally processed quickly, but it can take up to 7 days to appear in your Uber Wallet. Make sure your receipt is clear and shows the Merchant’s name, date, and itemized bill.

If it has been over 7 days, reach out to support with a photo of your receipt.
