Flashing Trip Requests: When you receive a new trip request, the app alerts you with a flashing light along with the standard audio notification.
Rider Notification: The app lets riders know their driver is deaf or hard of hearing, promoting better communication.
Trip Destination Prompt: Riders get an additional prompt to enter their trip destination. This helps ensure you have the information you need before the trip begins.
Text-Only Messaging: Riders can’t call but can text you if they need to communicate, ensuring you won’t miss any important information.
To turn on these features in the Uber Driver app:
Once you accept a ride, the rider sees a message letting them know about your hearing status. This fosters clear and effective communication right from the start.
