When you select any uber vehicle option, the price displayed in the app at the beginning of the trip is the fare you'll be charged for the ride. Fares for all Uber trips are calculated by adding:
- base fare: the price for pickup
- time: from start to end of trip
- distance: miles or kilometers of route
- surge pricing (if applicable)
- tolls (if applicable)
The time and distance rates for your fare will vary based on the the vehicle option you select (uberX, UberBLACK) and the city you ride in. Your upfront fare will be calculate these factors based on your pickup and drop off locations. Please note that if demand is high and surge pricing is in effect, your upfront price will take this into account.
