How do taxes work?

We'll provide qualifying Uber Partners with a 1099-K and/or 1099-MISC. If you opted to receive your tax documents electronically, your forms will be available on your Partner Dashboard by January 31, 2019.

If you did not opt for electronic delivery, you'll receive your tax forms via mail after February 1, 2019. Monday, April 15, 2019 is the deadline for individuals to file your taxes with the IRS. Friday, March 15, 2019 is the deadline for companies to file taxes with the IRS.

If you do not qualify to receive a 1099 this year, all Uber Partners will receive an Uber Tax Summary on your Partner Dashboard. The Tax Summary provides a detailed breakdown of your annual earnings and business-related expenses that may be deductible to help you keep more of what you've earned over the year. Potential deductible business-related expenses may vary depending on how your business is set up.

Uber does not provide tax advice. We recommend that you seek guidance from a qualified tax service like TurboTax and/or contact an independent tax professional for specific answers to tax questions. You can also check out the IRS website for more information.
