How to Set up an Uber Teens Account for a Family Member. Now, a teen can also start the onboarding.
Parents/guardians, follow these steps:
- Select “Account”.
- Select the “Family” to begin creating a family profile.
- NOTE: To create a Family Profile, start by selecting the “I’m an Adult” option and follow the on-screen steps. If you already have a family profile, you can skip this step.
- Select “Add new member”.
- Select “Teen”.
- Select “Choose contact” and choose their name from your contacts (NOTE: They must be at least 12 to 17 years old).
- Your teen will receive an invite through SMS or push notification and will need to complete a mandatory safety onboarding. Once they’re done, they’ll be ready for their first ride.
- Make sure your payment information is up-to-date before your teen requests their first ride.
Teen, follow the steps below:
- Select “Account”.
- Select “Family”.
- Select “I’m a Teen”.
- Select “Choose guardian” and choose their name from your contacts.
- Your guardian will receive an invite through SMS or push notification and needs to accept it. Once they’re done, you will need to complete a mandatory safety onboarding.
- Once you’re done, you’ll be ready for your first ride.
